St. Paul's UMC of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Pilgrims on a Journey are teaming up to offer a walking pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago.

The pilgrimage begins on Wednesday, March 11th with a travel day to Spain and then we will meet in Sarria on March 12th. The pilgrimage ends in Santiago de Compostela on Sunday, March 22nd, after breakfast. After registration, you will receive additional information to help you prepare for the pilgrimage.

The Camino is an ancient pilgrim route that begins in many places around the world. There is a saying that “all roads lead to Santiago”. Our pilgrimage will take place in Spain and we will walk the last 114 kilometers of the Camino Frances. We will begin with a welcome reception and dinner in Sarria and after two nights, we will begin walking the next morning.

March 14th Sarria to Morgade (12 km/7.5 miles)
March 15th Morgade to Gonzar (18.3 km/11.4 miles)
March 16th Gonzar to Lestedo (12 km/7.5 miles)
March 17th Lestedo to Melide (19.7 km/12.24 miles)
March 18th Melide to Arzua (14.2 km/8.8 miles)
March 19th Arzua to O Piño (17.7 km/10.9 miles)
March 20th O Piño to Lavocalla (10.8 km/6.7 miles)
March 21st Lavocalla to Santiago de Compostela (10.1 km/6.3 miles)
March 22nd Breakfast, Benediction & Farewell
Price **All registration will be handled through St. Paul's UMC. Please reach out to Rev. Ryan Roth-Klinck. After registering with him, you will receive further information from Jeana about the pilgrimage.
​​​​The price covers reception, 10 overnight stays with 10 breakfasts and nine dinners, daily baggage transfer (one piece of luggage) on walking days, pilgrim credential and shell. This also includes up to four online gatherings prior to the Camino to help with preparation. (depending on when pilgrims register)

**Travel for this group will be booked through St. Paul's UMC and you will receive information about this when registering.
Not included: daily lunches, dinner on the last night in Santiago or any taxis or bus fares.

Jeana Martin is a spiritual director, musician and retreat leader who loves singing and playing the guitar. She enjoys journeying with others and hearing their stories. Jeana has walked the French Way of the Camino as well as making pilgrimages to Chartres and Vézelay, France; Montserrat, Spain, and Assisi, Italy. She is currently writing a book about her pilgrimage experiences in France.
